PICASSO E VOLLARD.
Il genio e il mercante
edited by Claudia Beltramo Ceppi
The exhibition catalogue sheds light, for the first time, on the relationship between the art dealer Ambroise Vollard and Pablo Picasso. It was Vollard who exhibited the paintings of Picasso's blue period for the first time, when the young Picasso had just arrived in Paris in 1901. It was Vollard again who encouraged Picasso to produce some of his greatest graphic art masterpieces. It is precisely these works that are featured in the catalogue, a catalogue that allows us to reconstruct the complex relationship between the 2 great personalities within its pages.
